A hiatal hernia is a protrusion of the upper part of the stomach through a tear or weakness of the diaphragm. This distorts the upper part of the stomach where the esophagus enters it and doesn’t allow the muscle or sphincter at the base of the esophagus to close properly which allows acid to come up into the throat.
The acid is what causes the burning and pain. The solution is not acid reflux medication because that won’t fix the protrusion of the stomach through the diaphragm. So, I have a very simple…do it at home self hiatal hernia massage technique to show you, that if you have a hiatal hernia…it will fix it permanently.
So, watch what I’m doing here. The area we want to focus on is right here below the breastbone. First, take you hands…in this position…and run them up along your ribcage until you are slightly under the breastbone in the soft area below it. Now, the motion I want you to make with the tips of your fingers is up, in and down. Up, in and down. Up, in and down.
Start easy, do it for about a minute once or twice the first day. The next day, you could be sore, so wait until the soreness goes away to try it again. It’s just like working out…muscles get sore and you don’t work them out again till the soreness subsides. Work up to 3-4 times each day for a minute or so each time and within 2 weeks of doing it regularly you should be much better and continue doing it until you no longer experience any pain.
