Evercleanse claims to cause weight loss through bowel cleansing. Well, who doesn’t want a clean bowel? What a great idea! Sorry, Evercleanse doesn’t work, can be harmful and many are accusing Evercleanse of unethical business practices.

Evercleanse is being advertised relentlessly on the radio. Evercleanse claims the product is a miracle solution for rapid…if not immediate weight loss simply by removing fecal material in the bowels and is being sold as a package of three products.

Directly from their website, Evercleanse says:

The EverCleanse® program is synergistically designed to provide everything you need to cleanse, detoxify, replenish and maintain a healthy digestive system so you can look and feel better than you ever have.

Hogwash.

Let’s begin with the concept behind Evercleanse. You are being marketed that all people have unwanted fecal material in their bowels that won’t come out…and adds to your overall weight and size of your midsection…unless you use their product. And, if you use their product, the unwanted fecal material will miraculously come out, you lose weight and your waist size goes down. Nothing could be further from the truth.

First, you have no unwanted…or unable to excrete…fecal material. The colon (bowels) are a self cleaning organ system. It’s called a bowel movement. Colon cleansing proponents have been using scare tactics that have been around for many decades…sold mostly at health food stores and recently on the internet. The scare tactics vary in claims that range from the fecal material attached to the inside of your bowels to parasites that won’t come out without that company’s special product. All inaccurate information. Parasites are rare in America…they do exist…but of all the stool tests my office sends out each year, rarely does one come back with a parasite.

Second, would you purchase a product without information about what is in the product? Evercleanse is a bit touchy about this issue. Calls to their office got me a list read to me over the phone…which didn’t sync with what is listed on their website. Another phone call got me a salesperson suggesting I purchase the product because the label contains the ingredients…and they can’t tell me because they don’t have a list handy.

The list read to me contained objectionable ingredients in my opinion. First, I was told there is hydrolyzed guar gum in the Evercleanse Cleaning Formula. Anytime a product…usually a protein…is hydrolyzed, MSG (monosodium glutamate, also known as free glutamic acid) is produced. MSG is a known danger to your health as a neurotoxin. That means your nervous system is adversely affected by it. Google “hydrolyzation dangers” for more information.

Second, I was told the Evercleanse Replenishing Formula contains rice powder, inulin (sometimes inaccurately called FOS or fructo-oligo saccharide) which is a soluble fiber and a blend of probiotics (beneficial bacteria like acidophilus and bifidus). Fine, except the biggest objection to this product is the inulin which in many people may cause gas and bloating as well as stomach discomfort.

Third, the Colon Health Supplement contains flax seed, indole-3-carbinole (a very healthy nutrient usually found in broccoli, califlower and other cruciferous vegetables), colostrum (an immune enhancer) and another blend of probiotics. Not a huge objection to this product.

All in all, not a very well thought out set of very expensive products being sold on a false premise to begin with. Google the product, look at the blogs where people discuss all about how this product does not work.

And then there’s the buzz all over the internet about their deceptive business practices. It ranges from inability to get a refund to not being able to cancel the auto-ship program that automatically charges your credit card every month. Google for this info also.

Stay away from this product like a bad case of constipation. No colon cleansing program is worthwhile and there are better treatments to improve or maintain the health of your digestive system.
